• A Dandelion Stem

A poem by Mediana Stan, illustrated by Liviu Boar, translated by Rafael Manory

Mom, look at me how I dress:
A dress of poppy to impress!

    Up on my pink arms
I put two dandelions for charms:

    Two dandelions, white, bouffant
Like the s’eeves of a princess, puffed out.

I will be able to fly ahead
Up above the flowers' woven bed...

So dressed, there in the field I am
    A golden dandelion stem!
